The dependence of the number and lifetime distribution of the filaments in the solar cycle phase is analyzed for those filaments that exist for two or more rotations. A long-term variation in the distributions of the filaments is noted and related to the changes in full magnetic flux. The behavior of the filaments is of interest for tracing active-region magnetic fields that can shed light on processes in the solar convection zone.
