It is shown that the scaling analysis presented in Phys. Rev. Lett. 85, 4988
(2000) (cond-mat/0007141) is valid for finite chains of lengths relevant to
experiments, in contrast to a recent claim made by A. Hanke and R. Metzler in
cond-mat/0108323.
