The Forbush decreases of cosmic-ray intensity of April 13, 1973, July 4, 1974 and October 14, 1974, which exhibited extremely short recovery times (approximately one day) despite the central locations of the parent flares, are investigated in terms of a corotating model. For all three events, it is found that an extremely rapid recovery period begins in concurrence with the earth's entering a high-speed solar wind stream emanating from observed coronal holes located less than 15 deg east of the active regions responsible for the decrease. It is concluded that when large coronal holes are located immediately east of solar flare regions emitting type IV bursts, the eastward extension of the Forbush decrease region is significantly reduced due to the fast stream emitted by the coronal hole.
