A tomographic method is presented for the reconstruction of the three-dimensional distribution of a randomly inhomogeneous medium from the scattering of pulsed signals. The method, which is referred to as 'space tomography', has been developed specifically for studying the spatial distribution of turbulent interstellar plasma from experimental data on the scattering of pulsar radio pulses. The accuracy of the method is evaluated.
