The qualitative structure of vortex flows of the von Karman trail type near the heliomagnetic equator, which is a chain of "cyclones" or "anticyclones" traveling in a solar-wind stream, is discussed. Linearized equations of motion of a polytropic gas against the background of an axially symmetric supersonic expansion with a velocity minimum in the equatorial plane are used.
