Cosmic Rays: Interplanetary Magnetic Field, Cosmic Rays: Variations

Scientific paper

Proceeding from the concept of a region flattened towards the neutral surface of the IMF which modulates cosmic rays, the currents (first harmonic) of galactic cosmic rays in the heliosphere are analyzed. During periods of greatest flattening of the modulating region at maximum separation from the neutral surface, cases of the disappearance of the currents of galactic cosmic rays (GCR) are observed. These cases depend on the width of high-speed streams of the solar wind. Such behavior of GCR currents as well as the absence of the arrival of solar protons are a consequence of the separation of the observer from the neutral surface.
