A design for the optical and geometrical arrangement of a TRIO-type array made up of three spacecraft is proposed. Instead of having two telescopes and a central station, TRIANGLE consists of three identical satellites, each acting as a telescope and a central station. The satellites are maintained on the summits of an equilateral triangle and provide a triple baseline interferometer. The configuration of the system is presented. Problems concerning the optics, imaging efficiency, and stabilization are discussed.
