New UBVR photoelectric observations of the early type eclipsing binary V454 Cyg in the region of the M 11 open cluster have furnished 303 measurements in each of the U, B, V filters and 301 measurements in the R filter. The photometric elements of the binary were obtained using Lavrov's (1980, 1981) method. Excess radiation in the U and R bands is found for the cooler star. The hypothesis that the hotter star is a blue straggler in the cluster is supported. No arguments were found for the rapid expansion of this component. The shape of the star's light curve in the primary minimum is explained as an effect of the observational method. The stars are embedded deeply in their Roche lobes. The system consists of a B7 V star and an AO-1 IV star. Their expected absolute parameters are evaluated.
