The dynamics of correlations among mass-points in an expanding universe is studied using the BBGKY (Bogolybov, Born, Green, Kirkwood, Yvon) equations. It is shown that the observed spatial correlation function of galaxies, as determined by Peebles and his collaborators (1974), requires that the correlation energy of galaxies be comparable to or greater than their random kinetic energy.
