The Leonid meteor shower begins in November. If conditions are right, you can see as many as 2,500 meteors per hour in North America. Best viewing conditions and locations are described. In December, the Geminid meteor shower coincides with the orbital dust trail of an asteroid. Scientists are not sure as to the nature of the asteroid called Phaethon.
