The sliding window method was used to perform a time series analysis of OH-emission data on internal gravity waves in the upper atmosphere; data were obtained at the Zvenigorod station in April 1976. Internal gravity waves of varying periods were detected and found to be associated with cold atmospheric fronts and jet streams. It is also shown that the sliding window method is an effective way to evaluate the duration of internal gravity wave trains; the time series can be used to investigate the source displacement.
