THE interesting letter by Harang and Stoffregen1, concerning
ionospheric radio wave reflections at Tromsø, prompts the
recollection of some observations made by us at the same observatory
during the Second International Polar Year, 1932-33, on a type of radio
echo which seems peculiar to polar regions.
