Results are presented from research on the two groups of comets detected by Guliev and Bairamov (1988). Differences between the two groups are established, including the fact that comets of the second group have generally larger values of eccentricity (e) and a substantial difference in the distribution of i. The groups differ in their values of the Tisserand constant. The comets of the first group have a positive correlation between e and cos i. The primary nodes of the orbits of the first group's comets are generally ascending and are concentrated near a longitude of 180 deg, while the second group's primary nodes are generally descending with an excess near 240 deg. It is shown that the first group quantitatively dominates among periodic comets.
