After the FA6 heater is turned off, the detectors may shift by as much as 70 um toward the HRMA. Earlier plate focus tests were able to measure the focal point to within 35 um, so such a shift does affect the imaging capabilities of Chandra. CDO has given approval for an ACIS-S plate focus test after the FA6 heater has been turned off to measure the new focal point.
