We present numerical simulations of dust evolution in gamma-ray burst (GRB) host galaxies as a function of redshift. Assuming a disk built up through gas infall and instantaneous recycling, we estimate the expected amount of visual extinction along a random sight-line through the host galaxy using Monte Carlo methods. We show that the effects of dust evolution in redshift should be evident in the existing sample of visual extinction in GRB hosts. While the existing sample does appear to show the expected decrease in extinction at higher redshifts, the overall extinction values are higher than a simple model of dust evolution would predict. Possible reasons for higher extinction and sample biases are discussed.
