Though the chemistry of icy satellites is well established at least on theoretical grounds chemical data on relevant aqueous species at the high pressures and low temperatures obtained in icy satellites are presently obtained only by extrapolation from measurements made under more moderate conditions. We present equation of state data for aqueous solutions inferred from speeds of sound measured by the method of impulsive stimulated scattering. The present study focuses on sulfate properties, with implications for better understanding pressure's role in the evolution of- and internal processes in deep oceans.
