The C-4 ionograms taken at New Delhi during the period May 1958-May 1959 have been analysed. Different types of Es are identified and their percentage occurrence is shown with the help of histogram. The blanketing of the Es-layer is defined and its correlation with the occurrence of multiple Es-reflection has been found. A positive correlation between the Es occurrence, the critical frequency of the Es-layer and the solar activity is obtained and is illustrated graphically. The effect of meteoric showers and sporadic meteors on the Es-ionization is discussed.
