We aim to measure the proper motion (and potentially parallax) of the intermediate age pulsar J1509-5850. J1509-5850 appears to be associated with a 7 arcminute long radio and xray trail, which contains the SNR candidate MSC 319.9-0.7. The measurement of the proper motion will clarify this association, and the resultant estimate of the pulsar's transverse velocity will shed light on the physics of the shock interaction which is presumably powering the trail. Furthermore, ATCA data which would be taken in conjunction with the LBA observation will provide a higher resolution of the radio trail, discerning the contribution of the SNR candidate.
