We overview our current knowledge regarding the supercritical accretion flow both from theoretical and observational points of view. Starting from the general introduction, we will first introduce a simple model, the slim-disk model, and discuss the unique properties of supercritical flow. We then present our attempts of observational tests. Finally, we will discuss various properties of the simulated supercritical accretion flow based on the two-dimensional radiation-hydrodynamic (RHD) simulations.
