A high-speed CCD will be used on the UH 0.6-meter telescope to provide high-temporal resolution photometry of the impact and immediate aftermath. The main focus of the observations will be the seconds and first few minutes after impact. The heavily sampled light curve will help us better understand the physics of the flash.
Support for this work was provided through University of Maryland and University of Hawaii subcontract Z667702, which was awarded under prime contract NASW-00004 from NASA.
