In this paper, the dynamics, the magnetohydrodynamics and the energetics
of flaring magnetic loops are reviwed. It is also emphasized that the
presented model is in no way a unique one. The most commonly occurring
type is labelled as B type flares. This paper reviews the general
features of a B type flare.
