Eclipsing Binary, Period Variation, O-C Study, Surface Activity

Scientific paper

From Johnson B and V photometric measurements of V=8.98 mag eclipsing binary UV Leonis we calculated the epochs of primary and secondary minima, which we used to complement the published O-C catalog by Kreiner et al. (2000). From this we give a brief analysis of the observed period change and give qualitative presumptions about the physics that might have caused such a change. Further on, we use the observed systematic vertical shift in light curves as an indication of the surface activity of UV Leonis.
