Daily and seasonal variations in the homospheric temperature and density are discussed. Isopycnic layers and analysis of density variations from satellite drag data (obtained from Sputnik 1 and 2 and Explorer 1) are described. Changes in the solar EUV flux, Fe XV and XVI spectral emission lines, and 2800 MHz radio flux are correlated with density and exospheric temperature variations.
