The X-ray flare event of November 22, 1977 is discussed with reference to the initial phase, the burst phase, and the arrival of charged particles at the earth. The injection time of particles in the sun and their propagation time in the corona are calculated. The propagation parameters of the particles in the interplanetary medium are investigated, and the quantities of energy released in the form of X-rays and in the form of charged particles during the flare event are estimated.
