Characterization of stellar oscillation modes allow to constrain theory of internal structure and evolution of stars. Recent improvements in radial velocity measurements have led to p-mode detections on some bright solar-type stars. We review some current and future ground-based programs and present some new results. These programs are compared to the future space missions.
