Radial velocity and intensity measurements are presented for the following emission lines of Scorpius X-1: He II 4686 A, the C III blend near 4650 A, H beta, and H alpha. Analysis of these data suggests that a periodicity near 0 d .27 may be present, but our data do not confirm the periods (3 d .931, 3 d .7400, and 0 d .7873) recently suggested. If the velocity variation represents orbital motion, a model similar to an old nova is inferred. The X-ray flux might be accounted for by a rapid rate of mass transfer.
