Attention is given to perturbations arising from the satellite pair Miranda-Ariel, and the 4:1 resonance of Miranda, in an evaluation of the resonance parameters of the rings of Uranus. It is suggested that the observed resonances may arise from the interaction of Miranda with a yet undiscovered inner satellite of the Uranus system. The hypothesized satellite would have an orbital radius of about 103,000 km, with a diameter of 100 km. Faint albedo is assumed (18-20 mag), but a large telescope operating in the absorption band of the Uranian atmosphere might detect it.
