Scientific paper

A number of Type III burst events were observed at frequencies of 700, 350, 200, and 100 kHz during a period of high solar activity extending from May to August, 1972. The present paper deals with Prognoz data on some of the most intense Type III bursts. A model of the distribution of the electron density in the interplanetary medium during this period of solar activity is proposed, and the velocity distribution of the electron fluxes is identified. The lower bounds of the energy density of plasma turbulence are established from the observed radio fluxes.
