SOME theories of the emission, of radio waves from the sun in the
absence of sunspots1,2,3 predict apparent `brightening' of
the limb at wave-lengths of the order of 60 cm. and shorter. It is
therefore of interest to measure the distribution of `radio brightness'
across the solar disk at these wave-lengths.
