We discuss here a new mechanism for energy loss by stars via a γγ collision which for temperatures >~me is several orders of magnitude more efficient than the direct reaction γγ-->νν¯. For most (but perhaps not all) stellar densities and temperatures the energy loss rate is, however, still small compared with that due to γ e-->eνν¯ and e+e--->νν¯.
