The solar neutrino problem is reviewed. Recent findings, including an anticorrelation between relative sunspot number and neutrino flux, which lead to the conclusion that either the standard model of elementary particles or the theory of stellar activity has to be revised are discussed. The notion that neutrinos have a magnetic moment is considered, and the significance of such a property for our understanding of the universe is examined.
