A hypothesis of big bang cosmology is set forth which states that matter and antimatter (metamatter and meta-antimatter) were moving freely in metaspace, and that metagalaxies were produced in their collision. This metamatter could have consisted of elementary particles of extremely high energy of relative motion or extremely massive bodies. It is natural to assume that matter predominated over antimatter in the colliding metabodies. The state of matter in the initial phase of the expansion of the hot universe can be reexamined in light of this hypothesis.
