The free-convection flow of an incompressible and viscous fluid past an exponentially accelerated infinite vertical plate is analyzed. The Laplace transform method is used to obtain expressions for velocity and skin friction. Velocity profiles of air and water are plotted, showing the effect of a parameter on the profiles during heating and cooling of the plate.
