A possible supernova discovery in NGC 1380 is made by William Liller on Jan 11.16UT at magnitude 12.8. Independently this nova was discovered visually by N. Brown in Perth and 13th magnitude. The SN position is measured at: R.A. = 03h 34m 21.52s Decl. = -35° 07' 22.5".
Nova Puppis 1992 continues to be quite bright with an average reported magnitude coming in at 8.8.
