Scientific paper

The induced bremsstrahlung interaction between the auroral electrons and
electrostatic ion cyclotron turbulence or double layer is effective for
the generation of the auroral kilometric radiation. The theory explains
the close correlation between the double layer or the electrostatic
shocks and AKR.
