Meteorites:Parent Bodies
Scientific paper
To obtain a better understanding of the crystallization trends of differentiated planetary crusts, the authors investigated several Antarctic achondrites intermediate between diogenite and eucrite with electron microprobe, single crystal X ray diffraction, and analytical transmission electron microscope techniques. The crystallization trends have been compared with lunar and terrestrial trends. The results have been interpreted in terms of both the crystal fractionation model of Ikeda and Takeda (1984) and a partial melting model of Stolper (1977).
