Hubble Constant, Sunyaev-Zeldovich Effect, Clusters Of Galaxies
Scientific paper
In recent years great progress is being achieved in the measurement of the Hubble constant through the observation of the Sunyaev-Zeldovich effect for clusters of glaxies. This method enables one to determine the Hubble constant by using only the basic physics laws without resorting to the empirical astronomical laws, the only exception being the assumption of the sphericity of the galaxy clusters. It appears that the values of the Hubble constant obtained through the Sunyaev-Zeldovich effect observations by several groups are converging to the values 60 - 70 km s-1 Mpc-1.
