Planets are born in star-forming regions as by-products of star-formation processes. The understanding of the formation and evolution of planets is important to understand not only the star-formation processes but also the variety of extrasolar planets and the formation of our Solar system. We introduce some recent observation results of the protoplanetary disks around young stars and some trials for direct detections of young extrasolar planets with the Subaru telescope and its instruments, in particular, adaptive optics and infrared coronagraph.
