Despite excellent new data on the Ly-alpha forest toward 3C273 gained from high-resolution STIS spectra, the connection between the Ly-alpha forest and galaxies remains elusive. Specifically, we find: (1) no correlation of Ly-alpha absorbers with galaxies except for the Virgo cluster of galaxies; (2) no significant clustering of Ly-alpha absorbers; (3) no Ly-alpha void larger than 5500 km/s across, i.e., no larger than what would be expected from a random distribution of absorbers.
