The propagation of cosmic-ray particles in the Galaxy is still an unsettled discipline. Many models of various sophistication exist, yet there is no satisfactory model which can describe the spectra and composition of cosmic rays in their totality. Part of the difficulty stems from the large number cosmic-ray components and their interactions and inter-dependencies. In this talk we concentrate on the production of Deuterons in cosmic rays and its dependence on the primary flux of protons and helium nuclei. We use the production rate to test simplified propagation models of convection and diffusive reacceleration.
