A two-dimensional map of the radio source of a May 20, 1966 radio noise storm at frequencies close to 200 MHz is compared with the distribution of the electron density on this day and magnetic field strength calculations. It is shown that the radio emission of the noise storm in the meter wave-length range is generated close to the upper hybrid frequency.
