The structure of the generators of the asymptotic Poincare symmetry in the general R + T squared + R squared theory of gravity is obtained by using the Hamiltonian formalism. It is shown that a correct treatment of the generators leads to the appearance of certain surface terms, which determine the values of the gravitational energy, momentum, and angular momentum.
