New observations of atmospheric emission at N2O5 wavelengths suggest a mixing ratio which, at 1.1 + or - 0.5 X 10 to the -9th between 30 and 40 km, is consistent with the model of Fabian et al. (1982). A definitive measurement however, cannot be claimed until laboratory measurements of the atmosphere's response at 1240/cm to H2O, CO2, and O3, and of the channel's response to N2O5. A previous attempt at the latter measurement failed, due to the highly reactive nature of the gas.
