225 astrometric observations from the last five apparitions of comet Kopff were collected in order to investigate the orbital motion of the comet. Values of all three nongravitational parameters (A1, A2 and A3) were found for three linkages of three consecutive apparitions, and by ascribing these to the respective mid-moments the authors observe a regular change with time for A2 and A3. Further they computed thermal models for the nucleus of comet Kopff in order to find the physical interpretations of the orbital results. These models considered an oblate spheroidal nucleus, and it was found that an equatorial radius of 3.0 km with 75% of the surface area in a state of free sublimation of H2O ice gives a reasonable account of the light curves observed at recent apparitions.
