Scientific paper

Long-slit spectra will be taken along the small-scale inner jets of
several 3C radio galaxies. These will be used to determine the nature of
the phenomena: whether synchrotron jet radiation, entrained gas, ionised
clouds or star-formation. The data will also be used to study the inner
populations and dynamics of the galaxies.
