The central source of IC5063 shows properties which are a cross-way between a Seyfert and a radio galaxy. The galaxy contains extended line emission regions, a Seyfert 2 type nucleus, and a double radio source. The radio luminosity is about two orders of magnitude larger than the typical values for Seyfert 2s, and the galaxy could be a candidate for a merger remnant. Observations at optical wavelengths of the central region are hampered by the presence of a large amount of dust along the line of sight, and ground based infrared images have inadequate spatial resolution to reveal the central source. # High spatial resolution infrared observations will offer a handle to understand the nature of the nucleus of IC5063.
