We have analyzed a small area in SW Utopia Planitia that shows striking
similarities to rift zone volcanoes on Earth. The area exhibits eruptive
fissures, cinder cones, and dyke swarms indicating rifting and magmatic
activity prior to the deposition of VBF material.
