Data from the worldwide neutron-counting network were used to study the intensity increase of solar cosmic rays on November 22, 1977 - the largest increase of the 21st cycle. The energy spectrum of additional radiation is determined, and the maximum of the increase is studied as a function of magnetic rigidity. The temporal evolution of cosmic ray intensity is investigated with attention given to the stage of intensity decrease. The effective mean free path is calculated for atmospheric absorption of the cosmic rays.
