The Salyut 5 infrared telescope-spectrometer was used to obtain lunar spectra in the 1.6-15 micron range. The spectrum during full moon has a maximum at 8 microns, where the intensity attains 0.0032 W/sq cm sr micron. A subsolar point temperature of 395 plus or minus 2 deg K was obtained which is close to the brightness temperature of the moon at 8 microns.
