The procedure for echelle spectrogram reduction, presented in the paper, is based on a technique used for extracting information from these spectra. The procedure is a more efficient variant of this technique: it requires less time and provides better resolution. A whole image is scanned with a small square slit, and a spectrum is reconstructed in a computer.
